Booked Maarten for our daughters 18th Birthday Party as I has heard so many great reviews about both him and his amazing pizzas.
WOW!!! We were just blown away.... Both himself and Ollie were just fabulous.. Cannot say enough about how fantastic they were. From the moment I contacted Maarten he was super. Our daughter has a life threatening peanut allergy and he went to so much trouble to ensure every ingredient was peanut free.. Right down to the origin of their flour. That means so much to us and especially our daughter as she could relax and totally enjoy her night.
When Maarten and Ollie set up in their amazing 'Pizza Bus'.. it looked just brilliant and had such a wow factor. Over 70 arrived at the party.. nothing was a bother to Maarten.. Himself and Ollie had great banter with the crowd and fed everyone.
One week on and all still talking about the night and how delicious the pizzas were.. Handmade with the most gorgeous toppings, can honestly say they were the BEST pizzas we have ever tasted, just divine.
Thank you guys so much for your contribution to such a fantastic night. So many special memories made. Will def book ye again.. Planning next party already :)

We would highly reccomend Pizzabase. Maarten catered for our daughters communion on the 13th of May. The pizzas and salads were delicious, and there was plenty of food dor everyone and even some extras for later.
Maarten is very proffesional and friendly, and took the work out of our hands :)

We booked Pizza Base to cater from midnight at our wedding reception at Blairscove, Durrus, West Cork, in May 2015. As my wife and I live in China our wedding planning was all by email and over the phone, though my mother managed to get a taste of what was to come at the market in Bantry a couple of months before the wedding.
Our wedding was attended by guests from across the world and so we had an array of palettes to cater for. We also had a contingent of single fellas intent on drinking their body weight in booze and that would need a late night feed to keep them in check.
As the wedding turned into night Maarten set himself up completely unnoticed by any of us. Once the evening was into full swing word got out that there was a guy cooking pizzas with a wood burning oven and the rest is history...the level headed amongst us enjoyed the great flavours and service whilst the booze hounds roared with excitement and were subsequently 'saved' from themselves by the much needed sustenance. Maarten's food rounded off what was a perfect day and we would not hesitate to book him again for a future event.

Maarten and Ruby catered for our Wedding after party, which we held in a pub. I would highly recommend Pizza Base for an event such as this or any other party. Their van with the wood fired oven fitted neatly into two car park spaces on the street outside the bar and Ruby brought the pizzas into us inside. They arrived early so that they could get a feel for the place, so when our guests started arriving at 8pm the pizzas were ready to serve, they stayed serving for two hours so every time a new bunch of people arrived they got fresh pizza. It was obvious that the pizzas were made with good quality, fresh ingredients and the bases were beautifully crisp.
They went down a treat with young and old alike, someone even commented that we ‘broke through the ages’. Many of our uncles and aunts who never ate pizza before are still talking about it. We opted for the ‘keep it simple’ pizza package which is excellent value and there was plenty to go around, we had approximately 50-70 guests and everyone had some pizza. Maarten and Ruby were so professional, friendly and very relaxed, which suited the atmosphere of the evening, nothing was a problem for them.

Just a few words of thanks for catering for my 40th party for 50+ people. Everyone said the pizzas were fabulous; you were very friendly and it was a great atmosphere around your van. Thanks for staying on late. If I were to do it all again I'd have no hesitation in having you back.

I used Martin on the 10th of May for my daughters communion and I have to say it's was one of the best decisions I ever made and it made our life so much easier and it was loved by both adults and children alike.Everyone at the party thought they were the best pizzas they ever tasted and it was excellent value for money and he was exceptionally friendly and obliging.

A quick note to thank you for doing our evening food at our wedding on the 20th Sep, I have never seen pizzas being served before at a wedding and I was a little nervous about the set up and how it would go down but I need not have worried. I wanted something different to the usual sandwich platter and Pizzabase came up trumps. The pizzas were delicious, all our guests loved them. Most of our thank you cards mentioned our great they were! I hope Blairscove continue to recommend you to other brides. You were fantastic to deal with and it was lovely to meet you on the night.

We had Martin for my daughter's 1st Holy Communion party. It was fantastic, pizzas were out of this world. Everyone loved them and went back for more. Martin was relaxed, professional and never looked under pressure even though there was a steady stream of people looking for pizza! We had the most relaxing and enjoyable day thanks to Pizza Base. Very reasonable and pretty cool. Would highly recommend him and will definitely go this route again for home parties.

'When you are still hearing your guests say 'oh I wish I could have one of those pizza's right now' two months after your wedding, you know you did the right thing by having Pizza Base to feed your party! We could not recommend Pizza Base highly enough. We asked Maarten if he would cater for our wedding after-party in Glengarriff Village.
I cannot tell you how delighted we were with Maarten's set up. His van is fab and the pizzas are amazing. On top of all of that Maarten is such a nice guy who could not do enough for you. It was one part or our wedding that we didn't have to worry at all about. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Maarten and Pizza base.
Take care and the very best of luck with Pizza Base, I'm sure it will be a great success. We will have to have another party down in Cork in the future!

It was a great party with 50 + people. The best thing of all was having Maarty with his 'Pizza Base' mobilepizza baking lorry right in our yard. Making and baking Pizzas a la cart for our guests. It was the topping on a good party. Hot delicious pizza, in front of our eyes out of the oven - a unique attraction for our guests, easy cooking for us as hosts - and lot of really good crispy Pizzas as long as we wanted. Food Service at its Best - can only recommend!
